  My son and daughter-in-law were married at Baker's Ranch yesterday. Many of the guests agreed it was one of the most beautiful, intimate weddings they've attended. Much of the credit goes to those who planned the details, including my daughter-in-law who put her personal artistic touch on the whole event. But I also give a lot of credit to the venue and its coordinator, Tiffany.
  
  The grounds are lined with beautiful oak trees that provide both shade and picturesque landscape. The building is a relatively simple structure but functionally perfect for a small event. We had about 65 guests with plenty of room for dining tables, dancing and a bar. There was a private dressing room for the bridal party and a gentleman's loft complete with a pool table. My only complaint about the facilities is that the acoustics were sometimes challenging.
  
  Tiffany was incredible. She was in charge but not bossy, accommodating a myriad of special requests and going with the flow. She and her two assistants were on the ball with all kinds of details, working hard to make sure that the bride & groom and parents did not have to sweat the details and were taken care of, and that the guests had a good time. Just as I was finishing my first gin and tonic during the reception and pictures, Tiffany appeared out of nowhere with a fresh one. When I couldn't get in line for the buffet, she asked her staff to get me a plate and bring it to my table.
  
  We also had an unfortunate incident when one of the bridesmaids feinted about 45 minutes before the wedding was to start, just as guests started to arrive. Tiffany quickly stepped in to get medical attention, on the phone with EMT as she helped us look after the young woman, making arrangements for a private room in the middle of the chaos, and calmly re-routing guests around the back of the building until we could get the situation under control. (Since it was my daughter who had feinted, I was ready for the gin and tonic after the ceremony.)
  
  There are fancier places and some with more scenic waterfront views in Sarasota. I've been to gorgeous weddings at Selby Gardens, Spanish Point, and several other beautiful venues in town. But none of them had the kind of service we had yesterday.
